Hochrindl – Carinthia's box seat in the Nock Mountains
At an altitude of around 1,700 metres, nestled between the Gurktal Alps and the Nock region, lies the Hochrindl – a family-friendly ski area without mass tourism. 20.6 km of perfectly groomed slopes, seven lifts up to 1,832 m and full snowmaking guarantee snow from December into spring. The valley station is within walking distance, plus floodlit toboggan runs and a panoramic trail for cross-country skiers.
In summer, the adventure begins right outside the chalet: hikes to the Speikkofel, the Weißes Kreuz, over the Lattersteig or to the Ursulquelle. Families can enjoy adventure trails and playgrounds, and the Hochrindl disc golf course is close by. Lake Goggau and Lake Flatschach can be reached in a few minutes, the Bad Kleinkirchheim thermal spa in around 20 minutes – and Lake Wörthersee, Lake Ossiach and Lake Faak in about 45 minutes.
The village centre with restaurants is within walking distance; Sirnitz with shops, a restaurant and a petrol station is around 5 km away. Klagenfurt with its airport and main station is approx. 50 km or 45 minutes' drive away, Villach approx. 60 km or 55 minutes.
